I am a translator of Catalan and Spanish based in Catalonia. Born 1953 in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, on the infamous Costa Brava, I studied in England and then spent more than 25 years living in Barcelona. I have now settled in the grape-growing region of Alt Penedès, known around the world for its sparkling wine, or cava.

Since 1988 I have worked for the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya), Barcelona City Hall, the UNESCO Centre of Catalonia, leading Catalan art museums and various publishers and institutions. Most of my work is in the field of Catalan or Spanish culture, art, literature, architecture, archaeology, history, etc. I have also translated educational material and books on travel and the environment.

I studied photography at school and at the Polytechnic of Central London and have a collection of photographs of Barcelona and other parts of Catalonia, some recent, some going back to the 1970s.
